The Interface Is a Sentence

Six words may be the whole product.

The future of pickup ordering may begin with six words: "Order my usual on the way home."

Everything else — the menu normalization, the route math, the pickup timing, the payment — should happen behind that sentence. The interface is not a grid. It is a request and a confirmation.

Designing for voice means designing for a conversation that ends quickly. The best version of OrderNova is the one you barely notice using.

More notes

Why Bodegas Belong in the Future of Voice Commerce
The places that know our names and make our sandwiches should not be excluded because they lack enterprise software.
How a Global Food Wallet Could Work
A traveler should be able to pay in one currency while the restaurant receives another—without either side thinking about settlement infrastructure.
Pickup Without the Delivery Economy
Delivery solved convenience by sending another person. Voice pickup solves a different problem: helping you collect food along a trip you were already making.
